In Other Words is an interactive XR artwork that explores how we perceive and interpret the everyday world. The objects around us carry meanings shaped by our experiences, the spaces we inhabit, and the ways we describe them. A familiar object may appear entirely different when encountered in another place, through another perspective, or within another system of interpretation. The artwork invites visitors to explore these shifting meanings through two interconnected worlds. In the Object World, objects are encountered through movement, proximity, and touch. In the Word World, they unfold into networks of words, attributes, and relationships. Visitors can move between these worlds, rearrange words, and observe how their actions transform the objects and their surroundings. Through these interactions, abstract processes of interpretation become visible and tangible. Each exhibition space brings its own context into the work. While the underlying interaction rules remain consistent, the objects, spatial relationships, and everyday activities of each location shape the meanings that emerge. The physical environment occasionally reveals itself through the virtual layers, drawing attention to the relationship between the world we experience and the ways we represent it. By bringing embodied experience, language, and computational interpretation into the same space, In Other Words opens up different ways of understanding familiar things. These perspectives can overlap, contradict, and reshape one another, inviting visitors to reconsider what they see and how they make sense of it. Meaning is continually negotiated among people, objects, and places.
